Near Miss…

Usually around this time I am looking forward to editing the Cars and Coffee video and posting it on here. But I was pretty darn close to dealing with something else entirely as I drove to the show on the morning on June 6 th 2015. Warning, profanity inbound...

So that nearly happened… I went to the middle lane because I expect people to do right on reds. It also makes you more visible. But this? You ride it out, react instinctively and hope for the best.

At moment of posting my Cars and Coffee video is edited for about 75%. So expect it to drop in a few days from now!

So your light was yellow, meaning theirs was red. And they just pull out like its green. They probably thought you were the one at fault too.

Undoubtedly. In cases like these a dash-cam is the most valuable thing you can have. Had I indeed pasted her I would have been in the right. Not that it matters, the accident would have been a gnarly one. No matter if you are right or wrong, it would be better not getting into an accident in the first place. But, there are times you can’t avoid it. And this, could have been one of those times had I been in the right hand lane like I was originally.

Good thing you weren't. I drive a lot so I see stupid stuff like this a lot. I had a lady wait until the last minute to pull out in front of me. I luckily had an empty lane to swerve into. I honked my horn at her and she started to chase me. It was a nice night out so I had my windows down. I couldn't make out what she was saying but I could hear her even going about 40 through a neighborhood trying to get away.

Actually, in the slowmo I noticed she is looking down first, then looks straight ahead and then sees me. At that time she already fucked up and nearly got the wind knocked out of her by a 2 ton car.

I think a phone might have been at play here. She saw the light change in her peripheral, too bad it was the wrong light.
